Date of Completion: 2001 Program: Entire Home Renovation, and Addition Building Area: 4,800 SF Primary Materials: Wood Siding Copper Downspouts and Slate Roofing PROJECT DESCRIPTION
This project involved an addition and renovation of an existing single-family residence built in 1892. The addition included a sunroom, master bath, study and a new coach house with office above.
The primary goal of this project was to blend the addition into the existing home while maintaining the overall Colonial Revival appearance. Due to code and zoning regulations our addition was limited to 525 square feet once the existing enclosed porch was demolished. We had to creatively modify the existing rooms and spaces to maintain the exterior appearance of the home. Maintaining the integrity of the existing home while updating the interior to include a breakfast room, family room, a master bedroom suite and a second floor laundry room created design challenges for this project. |
