This project included overtaking an existing attached garage to become part of a new family room with an expanded breakfast area and new mudroom. A second floor was added above the existing sunroom to provide a master bath.

The work demonstrates sensitivity to the original architecture through varied use of materials and details that emulate their surroundings. The master suite addition was designed with wood pilasters and panels below a ribbon of windows to create an element that is intentionally light and delicate above the sunroom.

This project was honored with a Preservation Award in 2006 from the Village of Wilmette.
